Messages
RVThinker includes a simple messaging system for communication between users and administrators. The main intention is to allow users to send suggestions or questions to the administrators. Most screens have active Title text which opens a feedback or message panel for that screen.
Accessing Messages
- Click the hamburger menu (☰) in the toolbar.
- Click Messages.
You can also tell at a glance whether you have unread messages — a red badge with the unread count appears on the hamburger icon and the Messages menu item.
Inbox
The Inbox tab shows messages you've received. Each message displays:
- Sender — who sent it (often the system or an admin)
- Subject — the message topic
- Preview — first line of the message body
- Date — when it was sent
- Read/Unread indicator
Click a message to read it. Messages are automatically marked as read when you open them.
Sent Messages
The Sent tab shows copies of messages you've sent. This serves as a record of your outgoing communication.
Composing a Message
- In the Messages modal, switch to the Compose tab.
- Enter a subject and message body.
- Click Send.
Messages are primarily used for communicating with site administrators — asking questions, reporting issues, or requesting account changes.
Replying to Messages
When viewing a received message, you can reply directly:
- Open the message from your Inbox.
- Click Reply.
- The subject is auto-populated with "Re: [Original Subject]" and the original message is shown for context.
- Type your reply and click Send.
Unread Badge
The unread message count is displayed as a red badge in two places:
- On the hamburger menu icon (☰) in the toolbar
- Next to the Messages item in the menu dropdown
This updates in real time, so you'll know immediately when a new message arrives.
